| EXFOLIATORS |
|
As we age, the rate of exfoliation slows down, resulting in a build-up of older, less healthy-looking cells on the surface. Eventually, the skin begins to become dry, crusty and wrinkled. There are several ways to speed up the cell division and shedding rate.
The most effective means of rejuvenating the skin is exfoliation. The skin of a child replaces its outer layer approximately every twenty-eight days. This process keeps the skin looking youthful and healthy.
Exfoliators come in a variety of strengths. Low strength exfoliators can be used as often as daily. The level of skin peeling or exfoliation is usually not as a dramatic as with high strength exfoliators, otherwise known as skin peels. |

Exfoliation using Fruit Acids - Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid Fruit Acids are excellent exfoliators. Fruit Acids loosen the adherence of old and dead cells to the underlying healthy skin cells. When Fruit Acids are combined with a mild buffing action, these dead skin cells can be removed easily. A higher concentration Fruit Acid is commonly referred to as a skin peel and be used for deeper stimulation and penetration of the deeper layers of the skin.
