- Definitely not for the first time user of a peel. If you have not done peels in the past really do listen and start with a 10% or 20% and work your way up. Even with 10% first time users can be itchy, stingy, and scratchy. I have found that a fan helps, but friends of mine say fans make them more uncomfortable. What I have learned through a great deal of trial and error is you need to leave the peel on longer then you think in order to get the results you want. You will definitely break out more at first, but continued use at 2-3 week intervals really does produce great results at about a 10th of the salon or spa price.
