best money ever spent29 Dec 2011I am 42, with generally great, super-pale skin. Just a few fine lines, and some mottling due to melasma (on cheeks, and temple), plus some very minor redness on my chin and nose, and a couple scars. Fraxel Re:Store was presented as some great Fix-All way to address these concerns. I paid 3 grand for a package of 4.
I am not paranoid--I use Botox and a little Juvederm, and happily microderm and glycolic peel my face. Plus I had rhinoplasty and lip implants (don't to those--I'm like the only person on earth who had a good experience with them. In fact, most doctors won't do them anymore.). I mention these so you know I'm NOT against cosmetic procedures as a rule. But Fraxel is, in my mind, a TOTAL turkey.
I decided to try something more affordable on my own as I consider myself to be experienced peel user, this site was so helpful and the estheticians are great and are located in the USA- if you can believe that! - By 9030anon

Flawless29 Dec 2011I personally have severe melasma from living in the caribbean and tried bleaching creams, but never really stuck to skin regimen. I tried Fraxel and did 4 treatments, at $750 per treatment. It was painful, got not so great results on my melasma. However, the freckles came back. I have recently been using the Natural Skin Shop AHA Kojic Skin lighten program for over a year, and I can proudly say my skin is now FLAWLESS! Fraxel is great, but Natural Skin Shop (and limited sun exposure, with high SPF) is a miracle worker.

Patience29 Dec 2011went to a very reputable dematologist in LA for a consultation for mild melasma and brown/red acne scars. I think the melasma was caused by a series of glygolic peels I did with not using the proper sun protection (stupid mistake). My Dr. told me that my condition is not bad enough to warrant Fraxel and that often these laser treatments will make your condition worse. So, if what you're dealing with is not that bad - it's best just not to take the risk. I really appreciated his honesty.
Instead, he suggested this AHA Kojic peel, I could not afford his prices so I ordered here. I use it biweekly and I use a high SPF suncreen. I've been using it for a month now, but apparently it can take a few months to see optimal results. I have to say that the 70% has done a nice job thus far with blending the brown marks. So, it hasn't completely gotten rid of the discoloration, but things do look a bit lighter and more blended. I can tell that in another month, there will be even more improvement. My friend who has very bad melasma has been using it regularly now as well, and her condition looks much improved.
So, I guess the lesson is even for us folks that seem more prone to obsess over our appearance (I am one of them), it's best just to proceed with caution and be conservative. I had other Dr's try and sell me on multiple laser treatments and while they are very tempting, I am continuing to stick with Natural Skin Shop. - By Regina

No sensitivity29 Dec 2011I've been using a mix of hydroquinine plus retin a cream for three weeks on my melasma, applying it every night, and it did nothing, this peel works great ,No sensitivity either, some mild flaking but using a scrub cleanser in the morning helps.

Worked better than laser on melasma29 Dec 2011I had laser treatment for melasma. I am really not sure what the laser was called, but the doctor said it was to treat melasma. I have brown spots on my cheeks from not wearing sunscreen. I'm a medium skin tone in between type 3 and 4. Getting the laser treatment was not painful at all. It just felt like a little tickling. The doctor only treated the spots on my cheeks, not my whole face. I was supposed to get five treatments, but stopped at one. After the first treatment, my spots weren't any lighter, but the skin around my spots was! Luckily, the hypopigmentation isn't severe enough to be noticeable by anyone but me. I didn't want to risk the hypopigmentation getting worse with more treatments so I decided not to go back. Then I ordered this product and I have to say it is great, each time my skin gets lighter and lighter.

Pregnancy Mask no more29 Dec 2011I was unsatisfied with the color, evenness and tone of my skin. I had been considering photo facial correction for years after 2 back to back pregnancy's. My 'mask of pregnancy' or malasma never faded, and I was very unhappy with the color, evenness and tone of my skin.
Only after 3 treatments are beginning to work. There is NO healing time, just a slight, almost sunburned feeling for a few hours. At night I use their Alpha Arbutin Serum which boosts the results! I am very satisfied, and I am glad to know that I have 2 years to use the solution. Great Deal!
